Whiplash is an amazing film!

So I've just watched Whiplash - the amazing film from  Damien Chazelle.

I'm actually speechless on how amazing, intense and truly inspiring this film actually is. It is absolutely mesmerising - telling the tale of a turbulent relationship between student drummer and hard as nails instructor.

Not only is it shot, edited and put together incredibly but the Oscar winning performance from J. K. Simmons just blew me away. Its staggering.

I defy anyone not to watch this and want to shout at the screen at certain points and even if you're not musical, or a fan of Jazz or indeed not a fan of this kind of film, do yourselves a favour and go and see it.

Some time ago I was a drummer in a band (though nothing like the playing in this film) and I sympathised so much with the sore hands and blisters from practising so hard. Track this down, and watch it!
